Jasper Ridge is a 1,200-acre biological preserve located in the foothills adjacent to the Stanford campus. The field station provides centralized facilities for research, educational and conference activities. The new facility reflects design and construction strategies that are ecologically sensitive, economical, and architecturally sound. Multiple-use spaces are designed for flexibility and changing user needs and include research labs, multipurpose meeting rooms, classrooms, offices, and kitchen. Research and teaching functions connect with outdoor spaces to expand the amount of usable space. The spaces are arranged to encourage interaction between researchers, students, docents, and staff.
